Apotheque Lifestyle Spa Ribbon Cutting

Right at the corner where Civic Center Drive meets North Cleveland Street, the oldest brick building in Oceanside stands home to the Apotheque Lifestyles Spa. Those in attendance of the welcoming celebration had the chance to tour the unique spa and check out all that it has to offer. This historic building has been seamlessly converted to include areas for massage and esthetician services, exciting fitness classes, yoga happy hour, facials, hair, nails and many more services.

At the event were Miss Oceanside and some of her Princesses, Chamber ambassadors and a representative from the office of Assemblyman Rocky Chavez. All in attendance had a great time casually strolling the property, eating hors devours and mingling. If you missed this great event, don’t worry! The Apotheque Lifestyle Spa will be hosting the June Sunset Mixer on Wednesday June 18th from 5-7. Celebrating Herca Solar's Grand Re-Opening!

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce was fortunate enough to attend Herca Solar’s Ribbon Cutting in mid-September.

Herca Solar is a residential, commercial, and government solar installation company. They have licensed install teams and in-house design engineers that provide quality installation services.

Signs for San Diego hosted a Ribbon Cutting to celebrate their one year anniversary earlier this September, and the Oceanside Chamber of Commerce was honored to be a part of it.

Signs for San Diego has trained experts that are qualified to create any and all types of graphics and signage for all business needs. They work with your ideas and artwork to help create the sign that fits your business.

EcoWater Sytems of San Diego is the world’s largest manufacturer of residential water treatment systems, whose expertise and products for improving the quality of your water are second to none. Miracosta college celebrates 80 years of excellence

Dear MiraCosta College friends and colleagues,

The more things change, the more they stay the same. And that certainly is true when it comes to MiraCosta College. Founded 80 years ago as Oceanside-Carlsbad Junior College (OCJC) during the Great Depression, the college was established as a place where local students could complete a quality higher education without leaving home.

“I was delighted when the junior college opened,” said 97-year-old Charles Ernst, who was among the first students to enroll and graduate from the new school. “When OCJC was formed, it made going to college immediately affordable.”

Much has changed since 1934, when TWA made its first commercial flight and a loaf of bread cost about 8 cents. But eight decades later, MiraCosta College continues to provide opportunities for anyone to secure a higher education—whether at the San Elijo or Oceanside campuses, the bustling Community Learning Center in Oceanside, or through online education.

When we began our journey in a wing at Oceanside High School, the college had but 122 students and 20 faculty members.

In 1964, we moved to our current 121-acre hilltop location in Oceanside and renamed the college MiraCosta. In 1988, we opened the San Elijo Campus in Cardiff. A few years later, the Adult Learning Center opened its doors. Later dubbed the Community Learning Center, it is now located on Mission Avenue in downtown Oceanside.

Today, our enrollment has ballooned to nearly 15,000 credit students with an additional 5,000 noncredit and fee-based students, and we continue to meet the needs of a growing community. Last year, we added a much-needed, high-tech and "green" science laboratory at the Oceanside Campus and began building a new science lab at the San Elijo Campus that will be open in time for the fall 2014 semester. Meanwhile, more students are taking online courses than ever before, and on-campus offerings have expanded to include more core classes on Fridays and Saturdays. And we remain dedicated to enrolling and supporting the men and women who have protected our country by serving in the military. In fact, the MiraCosta College student-veteran population has nearly doubled since 2008.

The college also continues to partner with local elementary, middle and high schools. In 2011, MiraCosta College received a seven-year, $7 million GEAR UP grant, which provides multiple services to ensure middle and high school students and their families are prepared for a higher education and career choices. In addition, we are now partnering with the Carlsbad Unified School District to offer MiraCosta College classes at the new Sage Creek High School, enabling high school kids to take college classes, without having to pay an enrollment fee.

Underscoring our dedication to serving the needs of local workers and employers, the US Department of Labor last fall awarded MiraCosta College a $2.75 million federal grant to start a Technology Career Institute, a comprehensive training facility that will prepare participants—including military veterans and the unemployed—for high-skilled careers in the manufacturing and technology industries.

Over the past 80 years, hundreds of thousands of students have passed through MiraCosta College and contributed to our tradition of strengthening the intellectual, economic, social and cultural life of the community. Graduates are responsible for hundreds of millions of dollars going into the local economy. And by expanding the state’s economic base through their higher incomes, combined with the ripple effects of the goods and services they produce, our students contribute an estimated $74.1 million in taxable income to the California economy every year.

MiraCosta College is about creating success through our students, alumni and communities. It is about preparing students not only to transfer to the best four-year colleges and universities in the country, but to providing people the skills needed to compete and thrive in a rapidly changing economy.

MiraCosta College owes its success to the strong foundation built over time, and with your support MiraCosta College will continue to thrive over the next 80 years.

Ribbon Cutting for Nifty After Fifty

The Oceanside Chamber Ambassadors, Board of Directors and Staff were pleased to attend a great ribbon cutting on April 8 at Nifty After Fifty. Nifty After Fifty is located at 3861 Mission Ave. B25 Oceanside, CA 92058. Grand Opening for Shred Industries Clothing

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce attended a ribbon cutting last week for Shred Industries Clothing located at 125 South Coast Hwy Oceanside, CA 92054. Shred Industries Clothing designs men’s and women’s active lifestyle clothing and accessories. Shred Industries has been in business since 2013 and provides great merchandise and a personalized shopping experience.

Their ribbon cutting and grand opening had a great turnout. Sophia Hernandez, a representative from Assemblyman Rocky Chavez’s office presented a business proclamation and congratulated them on their grand opening. The Oceanside Chamber ambassadors helped to facilitate the ribbon cutting ceremony. The newly elected Miss Oceanside court was in attendance as well as the Oceanside High School band.

Grand Reopening at Denny's by the Harbor

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce was fortunate enough to participate in a Ribbon Cutting this morning May 15th, 2014 at the Denny's by the Harbor. Representatives from the Oceanside City Council along with the newly crowned Miss Teen Oceanside as well as Chamber Ambassadors were all in attendance. Welcoming Oceanside Broiler to the community

The Oceanside Chamber had the opportunity to welcome a new restaurant, in place of the old Monterey Bay Canners, the Oceanside Broiler. The Ribbon Cutting ceremony drew quite a crowd including Miss Teen Oceanside, Mayor Jim Wood, Oceanside Chamber Ambassadors, Sophia Hernandez- a representative from Assemblyman Rocky Chavez’s office and of course the restaurant owners Doug and David Salisbury. The restaurant will be opening its doors to serve the public Friday May 16th, 2014 and will offer a variety of seafood, steak and sushi. Baja Body Athletic Club Now Open!

On Friday May 16th the Oceanside Chamber welcomed Baja Body Athletic Club to the community. Founder and owner Jonathan Graves believes in “connecting the body and mind together and provides a unique fitness experience. He focuses on holistic exercise that incorporates traditional, functional, sports, group training, endurance and fun.” His facility, located at 1220 S. Coast Hwy, Oceanside, CA 92054 combines these beliefs into an exciting and unique workout option. Dr. Michael Gorgas of Back Pain, Neck Pain and Headache Relief Center had a Ribbon Cutting celebrating his one year anniversary in Oceanside.

During the Ribbon Cutting there was wine, music, hors d’ouevres, and prize raffles.

The Oceanside Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure this Monday of welcoming Unlimited Active Wear to the community. Unlimited Active Wear focuses on providing a large selection of medical clothing. A ribbon cutting ceremony was also held for Sunshine Sitters Agency this past week. Many chamber members and chamber ambassadors attended the celebration. Packed Ribbon Cutting at Buffalo Wild Wings

The Oceanside Chamber joined the hundreds of people crowding the new Buffalo Wild Wings Café yesterday for their Grand Opening at 10a.m. The restaurant was boasting a promotion that offered the first 100 people to attend the opening with a coupon book good for an entire years’ worth of free wings. Not surprisingly the restaurant was a madhouse with people lining up around the parking lot, the chaos beginning as early as 8pm the night before.

In attendance alongside the hopeful restaurant goers, was Miss Teen Oceanside, a representative from the office of Assemblyman Rocky Chavez, and Oceanside Chamber Ambassadors to celebrate the restaurant’s arrival in our wonderful city of Oceanside. Oceanside Business Success Story: Angel Printing

Angel Printing was one of the first businesses to open an office in the Ocean Ranch Corporate Centre. A business that began in the home of Vladimir Medvinsky several years earlier, Angel Printing now services over 3,000 customers nationally and internationally.

Medvinsky started as a graphic designer in the early 1990's, managing graphic and print projects for a variety of clients. One of Angel Printing's first customers, the City of Encinitas, is still a customer 20 years later. Three times per year, Angel Printing designs and oversees the production and mailing of the Encinitas Recreation Guide, a publication reaching approximately 30,000 residents. According to Medvinsky, managing a project of this caliber early on in his career helped Angel Printing establish credibility that attracted other customers.
