The Oceanside Chamber was lucky to attend the Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Mallard Reverse Mortgage this February.

Mallard Reverse Mortgage designs a plan for adults over the age of 62 without income or credit qualifications. Their goal is to pass on legitimate, straightforward advice on this Federally insured reverse mortgage to them that can then allow these seniors to refinance or even purchase single-family homes, mobile homes and condos.

What makes Mallard Reverse Mortgage great is that there are no monthly payments; the client owns the property and the proceeds are tax free! Members of the Oceanside Chamber were grateful to be able to celebrate a Ribbon Cutting with Radiance OBGYN this past month. Dr. Jan Penvose-Yi recently relocated her practice from New York to San Diego. She is a board-certified obstetrician who has been practicing medicine for over 8 years and has delivered over 600 babies, as well as managing to take care of three of her own!

Dr. Penvose-Yi has adopted a “humanistic care philosophy” meaning the patient is valued as a whole being who should receive thoughtful, proper and complete healthcare. This includes getting to know her patients thoroughly in order to ensure that delivering their child is a great experience.

Ingrid Phillips was thinking about moving back home to Michigan when she took a drive along state Route 78 and saw a freeway sign noting that MiraCosta College was just up the road. 

Her life hasn’t been the same since. 

Phillips, who had lost her home, her job and her marriage, drove to the Oceanside Campus not really sure what she was looking for. What she found was a supportive faculty and staff who encouraged the struggling single mom to go to college. They encouraged her to take advantage of counseling and other programs that MiraCosta College offered. And they encouraged her to apply for every scholarship for which she qualified.
