Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside Granted $10,000 by Cox Communications Inc. to Transform their Teen Center into an Innovation Lab

​Oceanside, CA (JUNE, 2019) – Boys & Girls Clubs of Oceanside (BGCO) has been selected by Boys & Girls Clubs of America to receive a $10,000 grant from Cox Communications Inc. for a Cox Technology Center/Innovation Lab.

This grant will allow BGCO to transform their outdated Teen Center into a state-of-the-art Innovation Lab. This Innovation Lab will help Club members increase their computer and internet skills as well as help them explore future career paths in technology.
 
In a recent Club survey, BGCO found that roughly15% of our Club members do not have a computer at home. This new Innovation Lab will provide a space for members to complete school assignments that require a computer and have access to the same opportunities to learn as other youth.
 
“We are so grateful for Cox’s generous donation and cannot wait to see how this Innovation Lab will impact our members.” said Jodi Diamond, CEO. “With Cox’s support, Club members will have access to state of the art technology, which will help level the playing field for youth in our community.
 
BGCO is looking forward to holding a grand opening to unveil their new Cox Innovation Lab at the end of the summer.
